Would you file for child support?
My son's father broke up with me while pregnant. He moved out of state to help the family business in CA, meanwhile, when we first were talking about the baby, he told me 'I couldn't imagine my life knowing I had a baby out there that I wasn't supporting' ... 'I don't believe in abortion... we can do this'. And he kept on telling me how he thought it was a girl... NOW - I've had our son, he's almost two years old. I've never received a single red cent, he left when I was 5 months pregnant and we have talked occasionally... but the conversations were few and far between. About 10 months ago we decided on a measly 200 dollars p/mo child support, and I'm still waiting for the 1st check. I've emailed again & again with no response. I want to legally file, but my only concern is that one day he'll resent my son, for HAVING to pay child support for a kid he has no interest in, and that he'll hold it against our kid in the long run. Do you thing I'm just making excuses, or should I do it?
