Waiting for results of Cervical Smear test - overdue?

I had my test on 5th April.The nurse told me to contact the surgery after 16 days if i haven't received my results.I called after about 20 days and the receptionist checked for me,called the lab,who explained there was a backlog and it will take up to 5 weeks to get down it.I was told to call again at a later date.It has been over 6 weeks and i haven't received anything.My cpmplaint is about my doctors surgery which is a new place,with 5 doctors inone building.The way it is run is so pathetic,which i won't go into now.My old surgery which was a family doctors dealt with everything swiftly,and i would get my Smear test results back after 3 weeks without fail.What should i do now?
